Mercedes-Benz ESL/ELV Universal Steering Lock Emulator
Steering lock malfunctions are among the most common faults in the starting system of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Normally, the dealership solution is to order and install a brand-new steering lock, which then needs to be programmed - a process that is both time-consuming and very costly.
The ESL/ELV Universal Steering Lock Emulator provides a practical alternative. It bypasses the defective electronic steering lock, resolving the malfunction immediately without the need for replacement parts or coding. Simply plug it in, and the vehicle can start again.
Why Use the Mercedes ESL/ELV Emulator?
-
Eliminates steering lock failure errors instantly.
-
No programming or coding required - plug-and-play design.
-
Can be moved between vehicles for diagnostic purposes.
-
Saves time, effort, and avoids high dealer costs.
-
Built for reliability and durability, making your work safer and faster.
How the System Works
The electronic steering lock (ELV) is a mechanical unit in the steering column that can fail even when the vehicle’s key is fully functional. When this happens, the key will no longer start the vehicle because the steering column lock cannot activate. Normally, replacing and programming a new ELV would be necessary. With the emulator, however, you bypass the faulty lock entirely.
Using the Emulator
-
Disconnect the wiring from the original ELV steering lock.
-
If the original steering lock is stuck in the locked position, it must be removed.
-
Connect the emulator in place of the ELV.
-
Insert the key and start the vehicle.
